Science at MBMS encourages students to engage their curiosity to ask questions, explore solutions and to use evidence-based explanations to justify their reasoning. In inquiry-based science, students are challenged as they engage in authentic problems while learning content, practicing reasoning skills, and communicating their ideas. The goal is for students to connect science with their experiences outside of the classroom.
At MBMS we use an integrated model building scientific knowledge over three years. Sixth grade begins with the building blocks of Life and Earth Science. Seventh grade students focus on Living and Nonliving Systems, Heat Energy and Geology. Eighth graders study Physics, Astronomy and Evolution.
